Too good to be trueSep 22, 2008
By R V
"Rogimoto"
This set has a lot of great qualities:
-A nice little index box to keep everything in. The box even has a little latch to keep it closed.
-Flats machined into the shafts to eliminate slipping.
-Titanium nitride coating, which is nice for basic homeowner bits. But according to Wikipedia, "A titanium nitride bit cannot properly be sharpened, as the new edge will not have the coating, and will not have any of the benefits the coating provided." But, who wants to go back to black oxide when you can get these shiny golden bits for so cheap?
-The price is right.
-Your friends might think you spent a wad, since the "Milwaukee" brand name is right there on the box.
Well, there is the problem right there. To get a nice set of "Milwaukee" bits for this price is just too good to be true. The small ones break easily, and the sharpness varies significantly from bit to bit. I think I would buy them again if I could get them for a flea market price, where I could buy 5 sets and just toss them as I go through them. At first they appear to be a steal, but it turns out that they were way overpriced!
I'm going to keep the box though. Maybe as I throw the bits away one by one, I'll replace them with better ones.

Best Basic Bit KitJun 05, 2008
By Jeff Shultz
"Shultzy"
I have purchased this set several times to give as gifts and to carry in various "kits" I have created for different jobs.
These are not the absolute best bits Milwaukee makes or the absolute best on the market, but this set IS THE BEST basic bit set you can buy at this kind of a price.
135 degree split point tips for easy starting in a range of materials, quality titanium coating for longer life when drilling metal, good organizing case, flatted shanks for no chuck slippage and today Amazon is selling this set for about 80 cents per bit.
At that price, I'd expect junk quality. This set delivers excellent quality. Unless you are willing to pay a lot more money, this is the set to buy.

A Great "Honey Do" Drill SetJan 05, 2007
By W. Engelken Being a proud owner of a Milwaukee battery powered 3/8 drill, I found this drill set to be a perfect companion for all the "honey dos" and house projects that pop up, planned or otherwise. Quality is Milwaukee and the drill bits are excellent. The set includes 17 sizes between 1/16 through 1/4, plus three bits beyond 1/4 inch; 5/16, 3/8 and 1/2. The shank of the large bits are designed to keep from slipping in the drill chuck. The case is a small to medium size box that organizes the bits perfectly. Highly recommended - great product.

These bits keep on chuckin...Apr 14, 2008
By R. Hurley These bits are awesome! I picked mine up on sale off Amazon for $17 and some change and have seen them at various places like Home Depot for $29.99. These bits are very solid and will stand up to steel, wood, and aluminum drilling. The case is nice and the hex shaped shank ensures a "no Slip" design in your chuck. I have had the Irwin bits before and Dewalt's and must say that these are far superior to those in quality, sharpness, and strength. I am a CA licensed contractor/woodworker and if they can stand up to my expectations I'm sure they will hold true for yours! Amazon comes through again...

Dullsville!Nov 11, 2009
By Otis Maxwell I didn't expect much with bits at this price, but realized yesterday trying to put a pilot pole in a simple piece of hardwood that these are some of the dullest bits I've encountered in many years of bargain-bin hardware shopping. Shocking to have the Milwaukee name on it... if their Sawzall was of this quality a lot of remodel projects would never get done.
On the plus side, the case is solid and easy to open/close and the bits are easy to get in and out. Two stars just for that. I'm going to swap out some of my drill bits from better kits and I think I will be happy.
