Good magnification, but very smallJan 16, 2011
By spiral curl girl I know, I should have paid closer attention to the dimensions, but this loupe is so small, it is nearly useless. The eye piece is smaller than a postage stamp and the bottom clear piece does not stand tall enough to get good focus and/illumination. If you realize this before you buy it- then no problem. It magnifies just fine. We have a 5x loupe that we use all the time, and this is at least twice as powerful. Good price. Prompt delivery.

Almost PerfectMay 06, 2011

magnification is great, wish it let in a little more light though, I have the 10X as well and it does a better job, higher up and a different clear part. other than that its a great buy. as with the 10X it would be better if it was glass, but i'm sure the price would go up. magnification is really significant. I only use it when I need to see extreme detail on the edge of resolution, it tires out my eyes with extended use but its perfect for small details on aerial photos.
Not Even the Coins Got Viewed!Jun 30, 2011
By Charnepo I had purchased the Carson optical loupe so I could see the dates on my coins better. I had read some of the reviews and the sales pitch and thought ok this is what I need. I am so disappointed in this product: It is very difficult to use, having to bend my neck to see any thing, not good. If you touch the base your out of focus, not even my coins made it with this one I tried to focus and you got it found the date and slight touch of my finger "it's gone", forget about trying to see the inside of a ring, it's not go to happen. The concept is good..but I am still trying to figure out to focus the thing...overall rating on this product is poor. Next time I will purchase one that fits on my head so I can have both hands free which is one of the reason I bought this one. Or it could be the user, maybe I just do not know how to use it...
